Charlee Newman is originally from south Texas. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas and continued studying in San Francisco,California in the field of architectural illustration. She currently lives in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico and now devotes full time to painting.
Charlee is currently showing work in her studio showrooms this summer in Ojo Sarco. She has shown in San Francisco, the wine country of California, Carmel, Pasadena, San Antonio, Texas, and several galleries in New Mexico. New Mexico Art in Public Places purchased two of her paintings for the Farmington Four Corners Airport and the Albuquerque Development Center. She is a member of the High Road Artisans and shows each year in the High Road Art Tour on the last two weekends in September.
The paintings and pastels are either framed with clear pine that is stained and sealed made by the artist or museum wrapped canvas or framed with floater frames.
To find the showrooms of Charlee Newman from Santa Fe take Highway 84/285 north to Espanola, turn right onto state
road 76 traveling north until Truchas where 76 turns left, continue for 6 miles until a sign for Charlee Newman Gallery on the right side of the highway at Ojo Sarco showing you the lane to the Gallery.
From Taos take highway 518 to State Road 75. Take 75 past Penasco turning left onto State Road 76 for about 10 miles at Ojo Sarco to the Gallery sign on your left. Turn in and come visit the artist.
